A few weeks ago I took Juliet for a hair cut. Juliet LOVES getting her hair cut- she sits so still, an I'm-so-gorgeous grin on her face, she's just lovin herself sick. But this last time the experience was cut short.
Hairdresser: So, I'll shorten up the back and trim the frin..... ahhh, hmmmmm... just, could you come over here for a second?
Me: Yes?
Hairdresser: Just see this here...?
Me: Y....e....ssssss...... what exactly is that?
Hairdresser: *whispers* Head lice.
NITS!!!!!!!!??
QUICK! COME ON KIDS, EVACUATE THE PREMISES! Oh my goodness I was MORTIFIED.
It must happen often as there on the spot I was sold an organic oil treatment, one of those FINE tooth combs and a preventative spray. We came home and REMOVED THE PARASITE.
My head went all itchy in sympathy. Rod checked and found it free from creepy crawlies, lucky for him as going through my hair would be no small matter.
After de-licing I wormed the whole family to make sure there was nothing else hitching a ride at the other end.
Oh the joys.
I was back at the hairdresser today for my own neglected mop. What a difference a good haircut makes! I feel great! I have a fabulous hairdresser (Amber) who makes it her job to fill you with self esteem. If I was stranded on a desert island I'd take Amber.
Then I came home to this...
.... a holiday is being planned. A European holiday. It was either this or start our home renovations... we figured Europe was cheaper... BY FAR.
v exciting.
